It’s okay to miss a night of perfect sleep. We can only obsess so much before the pursuit becomes its own stressor.
Last night, I went to NYC with someone dear. A late show, a great dinner, and a rooftop bar to end the evening. The connection, the joy, the life of it all—likely did more for my health than any missed REM cycle could undo. Sometimes, the best recovery isn’t about routines.
It’s about remembering what we’re protecting our health for.
