I know that I sound like a broken record… but I believe this messaging is essential. Habits can be formed in as little as 30 days. Simple habits work. 30-minute walks. Gardening for an hour… And who knows… in 3 months you might be ready to turn up the volume.
We’ve been conditioned to fear movement as we age.
That our joints are fragile.
That our backs are vulnerable.
That exercise is risky.
But the real risk? Inactivity.
Yes, exercise carries some risk. But the data is clear—those risks are low. Especially when compared to the very real, well-documented consequences of doing nothing:
Muscle loss
Insulin resistance
Declining mobility
Loss of independence
Chronic disease
Motion is how we maintain capacity. Stillness is how we lose it.
Exercise isn’t about chasing performance. It’s about preserving possibility.
