New Book Release: Knee Osteoarthritis: What 30 Years as a Surgeon — and a Patient — Have Taught Me
Today, I’m releasing something that’s been a long time coming and deeply personal: a book I’ve written for anyone living with knee osteoarthritis or anyone who’s been told they’re “bone on bone” and left wondering what comes next. Thirty years in practice as an Orthopedic Surgeon have taught me a great deal.
Suppose you’ve read my works, including my book Longevity Simplified, or visited my website. In that case, you understand that my approach to educating you is far different from most of the promotional information available on the internet.
The book is called:
Knee Osteoarthritis: What 30 Years as a Surgeon — and a Patient — Have Taught Me.
I’ve spent more than three decades in orthopedic surgery, sitting across from tens of thousands of people who’ve just been told they have arthritis. Most are scared. Most think they’re broken. Many are told to stop moving. Far too many stop being active. Some people try to push themselves to their previous levels of activity for too long.
Some are rushed toward surgery. Some avoid surgery for too long. Many people don’t understand their role in improving surgical outcomes and mitigating risk factors.
I wrote this book to change that conversation.
What the Book Covers
Why “bone on bone” doesn’t mean what you think it does
What X-rays and MRIs can (and can’t) tell us
How pain works — and why pain doesn’t always mean damage
What inflammation, biology and your metabolic health have to do with joint pain
The power of movement, strength, and confidence in managing symptoms
When surgery makes sense — and how to know if it’s time
How to reclaim control of your knees and your life
Why This Matters
Far too many people are told that osteoarthritis is a one-way ticket to decline. But I can tell you, from experience — as a surgeon and as a patient — that’s not the whole story.
You’re not broken. You’re not powerless. And it’s not all downhill from here.
This book is about reframing fear, understanding what’s happening in your body, and learning how to move forward — literally and figuratively — with strength, clarity, and confidence.
