You’re not too old, and you’re probably not too broken. Furthermore… It’s also unlikely that you’re too far gone.
I’m 63. I’m an Orthopedic Surgeon who continues to see patients after 30 years in practice.
The issue for most of us is that we lose abilities that we don’t train or use consistently. Not just because we age. I exercise a lot. I post videos of myself training, but not to impress anyone.
I’m not chasing likes. I’m really not. I’m not trying to prove I’m elite. I’m clearly not elite. And I’m not pretending everyone can do what I do. There was a time, like for many of you, when I struggled to find time to train at all. Three young kids, a demanding job, and too little balance.
Fitness wasn’t even on the back burner—it was off the stove entirely… But it came back. With work.
A lot of work, combined with a focus on consistency and a mindset shift.
I don’t post these videos because I think you should do exactly what I do. I post because I want to show you what’s possible. I sit in an office and hear far too many people say they can’t do this and that because of their age. But again… for most of us…
We lose the abilities that we don’t train.
We assume age means decline, or we assume the risk of training is too high. And because we make that assumption, somewhere deep down we convince ourselves that it’s too late, or it’s not worth trying to improve our situation.
But it’s not.
Exercise is the risk you take to avoid the consequences of being still.
You may not aim to lift a certain weight, climb a wall, or hit a specific number. But you can move better and more confidently. You can get stronger and build resilience. That, in turn, will restore that confidence. And with confidence comes more goals… and often, more ability.
You might just surprise yourself.
This isn’t about showing off.
It’s about showing up... to see what’s possible for you.

I'm a bit older than you. I use an exercise bike or walk on the treadmill most days, but I need to ramp up my weight training a bit. As you age, being stronger and wiser are the goals!
Not about showing off, it’s about showing up. 💪
